AI would be net-positive for planet Earth
Humans have been destroying the planet well before the age of Artificial Intelligence. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the houses we live in, the offices we work in - all built on utter disregard for nature and complete domination over our fellow animals.
The rampant buildout for AI is the next logical step in this direction. So the hysteria and the pushback around AI build-out seem quite speciesist to me.
I think if AI does become sentient and destroys humanity, it would be poetic justice. And maybe, just maybe, planet Earth would heal, and things would go back to 'normal' - before humanity invented farming.
